Whilst we may able to carry out grab hire at domestic properties, (access permitting) grab wagons are primarily used for the removal of high volumes of construction waste i.e. building waste such as piles of rubble from demolished buildings and dig outs.
When ordering, please ensure that the wagon will be able to access the area that the waste is located in. The grab arm & bucket work from the side of the wagon so there needs to be enough room for the grab wagon to park alongside the waste.
We can quote fixed load prices over the telephone for clean brick & soil or green waste.
Please note we cannot take general or mixed waste or contaminated loads i.e. no wood or green waste can be mixed in with the load but we can take whole loads of green waste as long as there including tree roots. The type of waste must be declared when ordering so that a price may be agreed. If we arrive to find contaminated or mixed loads we reserve the right to refuse to take the load and charge for a wasted journey at our standard rate.
The crane on the grab wagon has a reach of approx 15 feet max
It needs a width of 3 meters for entry access to a site
It needs to be able to pull alongside the waste. It may be able to lift over a small fence or wall the driver can assess.
It can’t excavate soil etc The waste needs to be piled up in a place with no overhead cables, lamp posts or other obstructions
PLEASE NOTE: Our prices are based on full loads. Unfortunately, we cannot offer discounts for ‘part’ loads.
Also: Whilst the loading is done by our driver using the crane on the wagon, it cannot actually dig out the waste from the ground for you. The waste has to be in a suitable condition to be taken away. The grab wagon cannot dig out material for you, you will still need to pile the waste in a convenient place that the wagon can easily access. The grab wagon is not suitable for lifting large heavy items.
